Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.2 Timothy 1:13-14 (ESV)
The following statements are intended as a concise overview of some of our core doctrinal beliefs. For further clarity, we affirm the doctrinal distinctives of our network, Acts 29. Regarding our stance on matters of human sexuality, we affirm the Nashville Statement.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God, free from error in its original form (Psalm 119:160; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16). As God’s revelation to humanity, the Bible reveals God’s person, plans, purposes and promises; therefore the study of His word is essential as our authority for knowing and obeying Him.
We believe God is the only true God existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 17:3). Each Person is fully God and yet there is only One God.
We believe Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1-14; Titus 2:13). He is the eternal Son of God who left heaven to become a man to save sinners from the penalty of sin (Philippians 2:4-11; John 3:15-16). He died for sin, He was buried and then He rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Today, He is seated at the right hand of God and is ministering as the Head of the Church.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4) He is working in the lives of those who do not believe to draw them to Christ and in the lives of those following Him to mature them in Christ so they can glorify God (John 16:7-11, Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18).
We believe mankind has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). People sin because they are sinners from birth (Psalm 51:5). The consequences of sin are spiritual death and eternal separation from God in Hell (Ephesians 2:1-3; Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3). His substitutionary death on the cross for our sins enables those who trust in Him as Savior from sin to be forgiven completely (Romans 2:21-26; 8:1). Once a person is saved, they are saved forever (John 6:39-40; 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; 4:30; Jude 24).
