When we find ourselves in the midst of turmoil and uncertainty all around us, Scripture is clear that the church’s primary response must be one of prayer. We firmly believe that any move of God begins with us humbly coming to Him in repentance for sin and seeking revival.
On September 27th we held a “Repentance Sunday” prayer service at Outward Church Outward elders and leaders identified several topics of repentance and led us in a time of guided prayer and scripture for each one. We are posting these prayers on our blog so that you can continue to pray through these topics of repentance on your own. We believe in the power of prayer and want to be a church devoted to prayer. Let’s seek the Lord together!
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:13–16
Dear Lord, we repent of...
Not valuing the miraculous work of creation that still happens in the womb.
Valuing convenience, career, and choice... over the life of an unborn baby.
Being apathetic about the millions of lives that have been lost because of abortions.
The lack of support for women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
Shame that’s put on pregnant women facing unplanned pregnancies.
Not showing mercy to those who have chosen to have an abortion.
Lord please break our hearts over all the sin in this world and any part that we play in any of it. Let us seek you in all things at all times.
In Your holy name we pray, Amen.
